Metro VPN print

Most local networks operating within a single branch or office and used for communication between work stations use the Ethernet technology. Therefore, the most natural way to connect geographically dispersed LANs is to construct an Ethernet technology based network between them.

The Metro VPN service offered by NASK applies the aforementioned technology. Hence, the corporate network operates as if it constituted an integral part of the local Ethernet. This, apart from cost effectiveness, is the greatest advantage of the service.

Why Metro VPN?

  • Ethernet - commonly known technology used by IT administrators,
  • Cost - on the customer’s side, the METRO VPN network makes use of the already existing LAN hardware,
  • Usefulness - najprostszy sposób połączenia wielu sieci lokalnych w jedną sieć logiczną,
  • Neutrality – the METRO VPN allows to maintain IP addresses and any number of VLANs (Q-in-Q mode),
  • Uniform nature – one technology to organize one network for the entire business organization,
  • Safety – traffic within the METRO VPN network if closed in the NASK network within a VLAN dedicated to a single user.

Technical specifications:

  • transfer rate – up to 1Gbps,
  • interfejs – Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet,
  • maximum VLAN number - 4090,
  • connection type - Q-In-Q or VLAN,
  • topology - star or full-mesh,
  • bandwidth guarantee,
  • symmetrical connections,
  • access - through NASK - VECTA STAR radio system or through a dedicated copper cable or optic fiber connection.
