The Professor Tomasz Hofmokl NASK Award print

Since 2002, at the annual SECURE conference NASK has presented the Professor Tomasz Hofmokl Award “For Promoting the Idea of Information Society”.

The NASK-funded award honours people who have made a special contribution to the development of information society and support the idea originated in Poland in 1994 by the late prof. Tomasz Hofmokl, the founder and first director of NASK.

The award has been presented to:

In 2002 — Andrzej Adamski
for promoting legal issues related to information society: a constructive contribution to the development of computer-related law and pioneering research on cyber crime

In 2003 — Daniel J. Bem
for his pioneering role in building computer networks in Poland and his contribution to the development of the Polish Internet
More 

In 2004 — Andrzej P. Wierzbicki
for his initiative and commitment to building metropolitan computer networks in Poland — a pioneering, globally unprecedented project — as well as disseminating knowledge about the influence of modern telecommunications and information technologies on social development

In 2005 — Włodzimierz Marciński
for creating the governmental bill and helping to pass the “eGovernment Act”, which lays the legal foundations for the development of information society in Poland.

for creating a successful auction system that has become one of the most popular Polish Internet sites

for creating Poland's largest online bookstore
