How are NASK's Internet connection services different from services offered by other operators?

Answer: Internet access offered by NASK is a service of the best quality. Customers are connected directly to a router with a fixed, guaranteed data transfer rate. This is very important, as many operators offer services where traffic is limited before it reaches the first Internet router. NASK, as one of the largest Internet operators in Poland, has its own national Internet network, direct links to other large operators, and its own international links with a guaranteed data rate. The NASK network enables data transfer rates of up to 622Mbps, which eliminates any internal limitations. Those aspects should be considered when choosing an Internet operator, because they affect the quality of services.
We have the longest, over ten years’ experience on the Polish Internet market, and our services are high-quality, reliable and customized to the needs of different customer groups.

What security measures do you apply to corporate networks?

Answer: A corporate network based on a public IP network should be secured at each point of contact between local structures and the Internet. The best way to secure network resources is through firewall solutions. They monitor all incoming and outgoing traffic and allow or prevent specific actions taken both by internal network users and people from outside.
Important data transferred over a public IP network can be intercepted; therefore, it should be encrypted by active network equipment (routers) or dedicated devices. Data is encrypted with the IPSec 56, DES and 3DES algorithms. To ensure full LAN topology protection, we also use IP address translation-the whole network is visible from outside as a single host with the router or firewall address.

Is there a difference between a class of service (CoS) and quality of service (QoS) in Infonet services?

Answer: Yes. Classes of service depend on prioritization and do not specify the quality. Prioritization in Infonet services has three classes: interactive (for applications that require real-time data transfer, e.g. BAAN or SAP), lan2lan (for less delay-sensitive applications, e.g. Lotus Notes), and access (delay-insensitive applications, e.g. the Internet). Quality is the network and its capabilities.
