The Collocation and Hosting Centre - Description print

Location
The NASK Collocation and Hosting Centre is situated in the Warsaw Kabaty district, next to the NASK headquarters at 18 W±wozowa Street.

A Multi-Level Physical Security and Access Control System
The whole premises is secured with a CCTV system. The video signal from cameras that use autonomous power and light source systems is sent to internal and external security personnel.
Inside, the building has protected zones with special access control. All the entrances to the building, paths between protected zones, and the entrance to the Centre are secured with an alarm system that signals any unauthorized access attempts.

Stable Environmental Conditions
The Centre has an air-conditioning system that provides a stable temperature (19°C ± 1°C/66.2°F ± 33.8°F) and air humidity (55% ± 5%).
The Centre is powered by two independent transforming substations. Each collocation cabinet has a 230V 50Hz two-phase power supply. 48V DC converters can be installed in cabinets.
All the installations run under a high-capacity raised floor.
The Centre has an automatic fire extinguishing system with fire detectors and nozzles that provide extinguishing gas both in the main server room space and under the raised floor.

Modern Collocation Cabinets
The Collocation and Hosting Centre offers space in single-compartment (42U), 2-compartment (21U) and 4-compartment (10U) cabinet models. In multi-compartment cabinets, physical compartment separation is provided. Additionally, temperature in each cabinet is monitored.
The Centre offers 19" cabinets, 900 or 1000 mm deep. All cabinets feature perforated metal sheet doors, fans, power from two different circuits, and independent fuses.

Various Data Transfer Possibilities
The Collocation and Hosting Centre provides customized data transfer options. We offer:

  • SDH/PDH channels up to STM-4 (622Mbps) that can terminate at locations connected directly to NASK nodes or lead to any location in the world (via operator interconnections),
  • ATM channels up to STM-1 (155Mbps),
  • FR channels up to 2Mbps.

The Centre provides Internet access with two separate 155Mbps links connecting directly to the NASK IP backbone. Customer equipment is also connected to the Centre’s 10/100Mbps Ethernet.

A Two-Level Telecommunications and Data Security System
Access security and control mechanisms (Access Control Lists) implemented at the points of contact between the Centre and the Internet minimize threats coming from the external network by rejecting unwanted traffic routed to customer equipment.
The other security level involves a technology implemented at the local network switch level (Private VLAN) that  enables the separation of traffic routed to customer equipment. Using two complementary security technologies at different network layers helps to minimize risk to customer equipment installed at the Centre.
