NASK offers its videoconferencing customers a range of added services:
-
Streaming enables live broadcasting of the audio and video signal from a conference on the Web. This solution is for companies that want to enable an external audience to follow the course of the conference without the ability to speak or ask questions. Access can be general as well as protected with a password or other authorisation methods. Our webcast is based on the RealVideo technology in its latest, 10th version. The transmission can be available in several parallel streams of different bandwidth to provide satisfactory quality for users who have different types of Internet connection (a modem, ISDN, fixed line). Viewers can use a free player available on www.real.com. The software selects the correct stream depending on the available bandwidth between the client and the server. There is a fixed delay of the video and audio (approximately 8 seconds), as analogue signals need to be processed and transformed into a digital video stream. Good reception requires a sufficient bandwidth between the recipient and the server that streams the video; a150 Kbps bandwidth provides a satisfactory quality.

Conference footage hosting on NASK servers or collocation of the Customer's server in our state-of-the-art Collocation and Hosting Centre are also included in our added services portfolio. The Centre uses very fast Internet links. This allows multiple viewers to play archived content without connection problems or significant delays. The crucial factor for the final quality of the transmission is the recipient's connection with the Internet.

Customers can have the conference recorded on videotape. We can record the signal from each camcorder separately, or the mixed signal that is actually sent to the other videoconferencing party.
